
System parameters










Temperature
These parameters include information about the fluid flow operating temparature, the ambient temperature of the surroundings and the wind velocity of the surroundings. For open rooms it's normal to specify a velocity of 0,5 m/s.

Specification
In this area you must specify the pipe system by selecting the product, the fluid type flowing in the pipe and the defintion of the fluid type, which can be specified by concentration or by the freezing temperature of the fluid.

Options
This area contains the options of the application. Calculate executes calculation for all dimensions in the selected calculation module. Print sends the user to a defined area for printing the calculation and in Clear, the application is reloaded from scratch.

Flow temp.
The flow temperature is defined as the average temperature of the fluid by the entered flow or velicity. The default flow temperature is 0°C.

Ambient temperature
The ambient temperature is defined as the average surrounding temperature of air. The default value of the ambient temperature is 23°C.

Wind velocity
The wind velocity is defined as the average velocity of the surroundings. For open rooms the normal average velocity is considered to be 0,5 m/s, which is used as the default value.

System parameters
System parameters is defined as all the operational parameters characterizing the pipe system.

Pipe system
The pipe systems cover the +GF+ product range of COOLFIT and iFIT. After selecting the pipe system, the calculation areas are defined for this product.

Fluid type
The fluid types cover water and a long list of refrigerants. When the fluid type is specified, the Concentration or Freezing temperature specification will be a constraint to this.

Conc. / Freez. Temp.
Concentration / Freezing temperature is a constraint of the fluid type or a sub parameter to the fluid type. After selecting this the properties of the fluids are picked from the specifications in the database.


About the calculations
This is the online calculation tool from Georg Fischer. Please select a calculation type from the menu above. It is possible to make different calculations such as Pressure loss, Condensation, Heat loss, Contraction and Temperature loss. Under the menu Supports, a table with recommended support distances are available. "Data" includes different kinds of documentation e.g. formulas and specifications of materials and fluids.
